This was chocolate fondant on styrofoam, just for practice.  The fruits are hand sculpted marzipan.

There are so many times where I'm working on a cake at home and I wish I had an airbrush machine.  So I'm including one in my wish list and maybe one will show up for my upcoming birthday.  Until then I will dream of making flowers like these at home...

Brush Embroidery

In cake design class last night we worked on brush embroidery.  I think this is going to start showing up on my cakes more often.

Reunion Cake Photos

Ok so here was the big surprise cake for the reunion.  I hope to get some more pictures from some other people soon, since my camera died... but here she is in all her glory

Upcoming cakes

I am so excited to post that I have so many cakes in the coming weeks.  I will be doing a gender cake (white on the outside and pink or blue on the inside), a class reunion cake, 2 Baptism cakes, a birthday cake for my dad, and a 1st birthday ladybug cake.  All of those will be in the next 4 weeks.  It is also almost finals so I'm sure I will have a butter cream masterpiece or two from wedding cakes class to put up.  Keep reading, and let me know what you want to see.  I am always making cakes just for fun.
